The link between posture and health.

Let's look first at the issue of posture

There are several reasons for poor posture, falls, car accidents, genetics, and stress levels, but the main reason is prolonged sitting and computer use.

When in a seated position all day your head becomes positioned forward relative to your shoulders.

Poor posture happens when your head goes forward, and the rest of your body tries to compensate for it.

Although the change starts in the neck the rest of the body's joints soon begin to compensate, right down to the feet.

These compensations become stress areas which turn into pain!

We believe that to treat your pain effectively it is essential to remove the cause of the
compensations.

So how is this related to health?
The link between health and posture is actually through the nervous system.

If you have poor posture then there is poor communication between the brain and postural muscles ( also known as your CORE MUSCLES.)

The way your brain communicates to your muscles is through your nerves. If the nerves are stretched too tightly, they can't send the right signals from the brain to the muscles and from the muscles back to the brain. So the brain interprets the bad posture as the ‘right' position.

This interference in the normal working of the nerves is how bad posture is created and maintained.

The interference starts in the spinal column. Any of the 24 bones that make up your spine can create a local area of nerve interference.

The link between posture and health

When the nerves are stretched and unable to communicate properly, they not only fail to communicate properly with the core postural muscles, they also communicate poorly with the organs and glands of the body.

Simply relaxing the pressure on the nerves through the ABC technique provides an environment where all your body's systems are working properly together.

This is why correcting the back bones and the nerves that join them helps our clients with many varied ailments including:

• back pain
• neck pain
• migraines
• headaches
• sinus
• tonsillitis
• shore shoulders
• asthma
• fibromyalgia
• slipped discs
• indigestion
• constipation / diahhorea
• IBS – irritable bowel syndrome
• Ear infections
• Heart burn
• High blood pressure
• Insomnia
• Menstrual pain
• Dizziness
• Chronic tiredness
