The secret cause of back pain for many clients is actually the position of their head and neck. The first step to poor posture is forward head position. After this the whole body compensates. These compensations become your pain.

Pain from incorrect posture can manifest itself in several different ways:

• Headache
• Neck pain
• Upper back pain
• Lower back pain
• Hip pain
• Leg pain

How do you know if poor posture could be the cause of your pain? Well for a start, around 90% of the population suffer from poor posture, so you may be in the majority!

Treatments for pain such as back pain, neck pain and headaches that do not directly restore your posture often miss the true cause of your pain.

Poor posture happens when your head goes forward, and the rest of your body tries to compensate for it. When you have poor posture the spine is held in the wrong position. We call these wrong positions “spinal compensations” .

With the spine in the wrong position, the body is placed under increased stress, leading to rapid wear and tear, inflammation, arthritis, stiffness and PAIN.

Although the change starts in the neck the rest of the bodies j oints soon begin to compensate right down to the feet.

So you can follow the logic that spinal compensations become stress areas which then turn into pain! To treat the pain successfully you must remove the cause of the compensations.

The only way to do this is to restore the posture to normal.

The diagram shows the common compensation points of the spine from poor posture.

These areas are under increased stress due to compensating for poor posture.

Thankfully we now have the technology to remove the compensation points and your back pain.
